Vinyl press

FAQ

We press 12-inch records (either 33 1/3 or 45 rpm), at either 140gms or 180gms. Our colour options are black, clear, colour (opaque or translucent) and coloured marble vinyl, and splatters.

We provide a range of packaging options, with our standard for single records being full colour jackets with 3mm spine and colour labels. Other options we can quote include 5mm spine jackets (for double records), gatefold jackets, printed inner sleeves, download cards, stickers and printed inserts.

We are committed to reducing our environmental impact wherever possible, and as such won’t be offering single-use shrink wrap. However, we can provide resealable polybags as these can be reused by customers when storing their records.

Suitcase Records is committed to creating the highest possible quality records. As a result, we work with a range of experts in the US and the UK to create our lacquers and stampers.

There are lots of different options and prices available. Head to our pricing page or get in touch to get a quote or place an order.

To place an order, we’ll need your mastered audio files, completed artwork, a signed copyright form and a 70% deposit. We’ll release details of the technical requirements for audio and artwork files soon.

Our minimum run is 100 records.

Although some people prefer the look and feel of a heavier record, there is no sound improvement over a standard 140 gram vinyl.

To provide you with the highest quality vinyl possible, we require audio files that have been mastered specifically for vinyl by an engineer who regularly masters vinyl professionally.

We have provided specific technical details in our audio specs so be sure to download that and provide it to your sound engineer.

Please go here to find our audio specs.

Before you send the file, please make sure that it meets all the technical requirements. When you submit your order, it is placed into our production queue. If the audio is not to our specifications, this may not become apparent until the test pressing stage and this can cause delays and incur extra cost.   We are always delighted to speak to any audio engineers about any projects.

Please  visit this page for all our specs and templates. Artwork must be delivered using the specifications provided in our Printing Specifications. Final files are required in PDF format.

70% payment on the sales order is required to confirm an order with the remaining due prior to shipping.

A Scribe or Catalogue number needs to be between 5 to 10 digits and is etched into the lead out area of the album. It can be any number you want. Some artists use an abbreviation of their name plus a number. An example for Suitcase Records would be SCR12345.
