June’s relationship with vinyl began as a child, when her Dad rigged up an old turntable to play in the shed during housework.
Her love of music grew exponentially and in all different directions – playing, collecting, and sharing. In 2017 she hosted the radio program Flotsam on 4ZZZ, terrorizing drive-time commuters with whatever she could pull at 9am in the morning. Then in 2019 the Rocking Horse Records crew welcomed her as one of their own. After three years, June bid farewell to try her hand at tech support. June then quit tech support.
Somewhere in the despair of unemployment, an ad for Suitcase Records came up, and the rest is girlboss.
Taking on the Production Assistant role, June ensures vinyl makes its way safely through each step in the process – from the files to the factory, and straight into the arms of its maker. Her favourite thing about Suitcase (apart from the team) is the festive spirit when everyone gathers round the press to marvel at Lee and Neil’s unhinged vinyl colour experiments.
