About the artist

Ashgroove

From a high school battle of the bands to selling out some of Queensland's most iconic venues, one question has always perplexed Ashgroove: ‘so what kind of music do you play?’ On the surface, this shouldn’t be a difficult question to answer, but Ashgroove’s sound is one that is tough to describe. From the danceable, joyous ‘Julia’, to the punchy, driving rock of ‘Dead Man’, to the ambient exploration of synthesisers in ‘B3’, to their folk-inspired turns on ‘Too Late’ and ‘Humour Me’, Ashgroove’s early years have been a true exploration of influences, to the point where no one genre can pin the group down. Isn’t that part of the fun though?
