Flamingo Blonde

About the artist

Flamingo Blonde

After a string of sell-out headline shows in his beloved Brisbane home, plus supports with the likes of Last Dinosaurs, Hope D, Jaguar Jonze and Noah Dillon, the River City’s most enterprising bottle-blonde is pleased to announce the news of his debut EP. A call to arms for doom-scrollers awaiting the second-coming of 2000s guitar bands, Flamingo Blonde’s ‘Two Trick Pony’ saw release on September 1 via PIAS.

For fans of Ball Park Music and Alex G, the all-killer, no-filler collection of tracks sees Blonde assume the roles of a colourful cast of characters, with the familiarity of reaching for his trademark 70s suit. Bringing humanity to the artifice of a pseudo-motivational shock-jock, would-be riverside arsonist and last-ditch dive-bar Casanova, its five tracks reflect a rose-tinted worldview familiar to anyone who grew up trying to make their small town feel a little grander.
