‘Bug’ is a collection of songs dedicated to the rollercoaster of love and heartbreak. Nothing groundbreaking about that with a young singer/songwriter but the music has been created while Lottie has developed as an artist, a young emerging songwriter and while grieving the death of her Dad who passed from brain cancer in 2021. Lottie credits her Dad for her musicality and as a tribute to him has named the EP ‘Bug’, the nickname he gave to her.
Lottie wears a ladybug pendant around her neck given to her by her Dad before he died. The ladybug artwork represented in the EP sleeve has been painted by Bianca Hines, Lottie’s high school art teacher from Music Industry College from where she graduated in 2022.

About the artist
Lottie McLeod
“Straight outta heaven. For fans of Lizzy McAlpine or Phoebe Bridgers, Lottie might just be your new favourite artist.” — Claire Mooney, Music Director at Triple J Unearthed.
2024 was a breakout year for Lottie McLeod, highlighted by winning the prestigious Billy Thorpe Scholarship via QMusic and an opportunity to showcase at Bigsound, finalist spots in the "Unsigned Only" and "Needle in the Hay" competitions, and multiple support opportunities for some of her favourite Australian artists.
2025 has kicked off with a bang. In February Lottie released her first single for the year, "The Line", which was met with rave reviews leading to being named ‘Triple J Unearthed Feature Artist’ in March. Just one week later Lottie was awarded the QMusic ‘Emerging Artist of the Year’, an incredible honour and a testament to her work ethic. March finished with the opportunity to support Mia Wray for the Queensland leg of her “Hi, It’s Nice to Meet Me” Tour… Just when it didn’t look like it could get any better. Lottie described this as a true ‘full circle’ moment as Mia was the first artist she opened for in 2023.
Lottie is absolutely thrilled to have released her debut EP, "Bug" in May, and can’t wait to embark on her first headline tour this July. The tour is a co-headline with fellow Brisbane artist Love Love Love, where they will head to Sydney, Melbourne, Wollongong and finally, to a home audience in Brisbane.
With her heartfelt storytelling and melodic vocals, Lottie is poised to leave an indelible mark on the music scene.
