Exquisite Introversions

‘Exquisite Introversions’ is a time-capsule of queer-infused songs made by Sweeney that have featured on previous albums, in live performances and on soundtracks between 2014-2024.

As a curated retrospective and a decade-long compendium of work, this double album maps a chronology of song-based compositions that speak to a development of style and form unique to Sweeney’s artistic approach to sound-making and audio production to date.

‘Exquisite Introversions’ explores the sonic threads that bind the often unwieldy work of Sweeney’s introverted studio practice. How do these songs change thematically over time? How does his use of audio production techniques and song writing styles evolve year by year?

This compilation features songs from the albums ‘Middle Ages’, ‘Human, Insignficant’, ‘Misery Peaks’, ‘Stay for the Sorrow’ and ‘Corporeal’, as well as alternative mixes, unreleased material and early versions. Some songs have also featured on film soundtracks and live performance works since 2014.

This 18 song collection tells a ‘sonic story’ of an artist who has literally grown up creatively in the ears of the public.

Mastered tenderly for vinyl by Antony Ryan at RedRedPaw in Denmark, this special double vinyl edition includes inner sleeves with lyrics.
