"Never Have I Ever" is a nod to vulnerability, a soul confession wrapped in groove.
Inspired by the idea of opening up and laying your cards on the table, the album explores those quiet truths we often hide: things we've never dared to say, feel, or admit to ourselves or others. It's about first times, missed chances, and emotional leaps we've avoided or finally taken. Like the game it references, there's a playful edge to it, but underneath is something far deeper: an invitation to get honest, messy, and real.
Each track on the album touches on a "never have I ever" moment, whether it's falling harder than expected, walking away from something toxic, or finally choosing yourself. It's a record for anyone who's ever held back, and a celebration of letting go.

About the artist
Dojo Cuts
Formed in Sydney, Australia in late 2008, Dojo Cuts quickly rose to prominence as Australia's premier heavy Soul ensemble. Initially a six-piece band, they captivated audiences with their tight, funky instrumentals and the powerful vocals of Roxie Ray. Drawing inspiration from the soul sounds of the '60s and '70s, they crafted timeless, feel-good music that resonated with fans both domestically and internationally.
Over the years, the band underwent transformations, with Roxie Ray adopting the name Sarsha Simone and collaborating closely with multi-instrumentalist and producer Nathan A. This duo became the core of Dojo Cuts, steering the band's musical direction while enlisting various musicians for recordings and performances. Their third studio album, Tomorrow's Gonna Come, released in 2020, marked a significant return after a hiatus, showcasing their evolved sound and commitment to soul music.
In recent years, Dojo Cuts has continued to produce and release music that honors their soul roots while embracing contemporary influences. Notable releases include the Take What's Mine EP in 2024 and singles like "Say My Name" and "Peace of Mind" in 2025. Their music, characterised by disciplined arrangements and heartfelt vocals, has garnered over 156 million total plays, reflecting their enduring appeal.
While Dojo Cuts has not announced any tour dates for 2025, their influence and presence in the soul music scene remain strong, with fans eagerly anticipating future projects and performances.
