Almost 30 years ago, Newcastle’s finest three-piece melodic punk rock group No Reason went on a hiatus of unknown duration. Soon after completing a 20 date tour of the USA in the late 90s, the trio found themselves living several thousand miles apart and playing punk rock together- became a fond but increasingly distant memory.
Fast forward 25 years and they were back in a rehearsal studio seeing if they could string together a reunion set to honour a fallen star of the local punk scene. Several ‘reunion’ shows later, it was decided to rectify a-glaring omission from the NR story…a vinyl album release.
On this brand new 12” record , No Reason will ‘Resurface’ and commit the NR legacy to vinyl at last. To mark the occasion, 10 songs from the second album Above All plus 3 songs from a 1996 recording session and 2-songs from 2021 will be collected together on glorious piss coloured clear vinyl. ‘Resurface’ will be available in a limited edition run of 100.

No Reason
No Reason came on with a rush in the early 90s. As a young, loud power trio, they weren’t looking for advice. They were looking to harness the volume and the energy of punk rock. They were looking to mould melodies deep in the heart of the furnace. When it all came together, they lit it up. From Newcastle to New York, they powered it up and burned it down.
A self-imposed pre-millennial hiatus let the flames die down…but fast forward 20 odd years and NR are back in town and setting fire to the remains. They have a full-length LP coming out too. The 15-song compilation ‘Resurface’ will be available on vinyl in a super-limited run of 100. Songs have been taken from the classic second album ‘Above All’, a 1996 recording session and a 2021 reunion session. 14 of the songs will be on vinyl for the first time.
